I have no TIME!!

I haven't posted in a while because I have been so caught up in work. This week I have been working on

  • performing Pirate shows
  • rehearsing Panto
  • sword fighting displays
  • finalising a presenting job
  • rehearsing an interactive theatre piece
  • learning lines
  • and finally preparing speeches for an audition
I really don't understand how I fit it all in, as well as trying to blog about it. I absolutely love being busy though, I prefer it to sitting on my bum all day. However, it is extremely draining because each activity is physically and mentally challenging. I do hate learning lines though. I find it so difficult. I like to learn them whilst moving in the space rather than sit and stare at the page. I definitely reflect on action because we use trial and error during rehearsal and this brings me to learn my lines, through muscle memory. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on my sleep next week.

Task 2b - Journal writing experience

I have spent about a week and a half working on my journal and attempting different ways of blogging it every night. It was really challenging to change the way you write about your day, I thought the hardest would have been writing from someone else's point of view but  I actually found this quite easy. Although, I found it didn't display what I had been up to during the day.
I got a little caught up on What if? it was really hard to write about what might have happened especially when it was a good day anyway. It really made me think about a different journey my day might have taken.
Drawing a graph to explain your day was a bit daunting to begin with. I just sat and stared at the page for half an hour to try and work out what angle to take. Finally, I decided to draw 2 graphs, one showing thoughts and feelings and the other comparing my day with my day last week and last year. It was strange to see that I still have almost the same routine as last year. I suppose it is good to be consistent. I think I might try this again to see what other challenges days might bring and a graph shows emotion quite clearly and where my thoughts and feeling change over days and weeks.

I felt that the first few options I was already doing in my journals so it was strange to only write about one part as I felt I wasn't sharing my entire day and expressing it fully. Therefore I kept drifting back to what I was used to. I really enjoyed trying new ways of writing but I think I will stick to my original way and slip aspect of the other ways to strengthen my diary especially what if? as I feel this can be useful in widening the reasons of why it didn't happen that way. I believe everything happens for a reason.

Professional Communications

I took the liberty of writing down the views and opinions I discovered after doing some further reading into web 2.0. There is so much to it. Have a look at my Professional communications

Task 1C Starting out on BAPP

these are my first thoughts on BAPP. It explains how challenging I am finding it all and expresses where I wish to end up in the future and why I am taking this course. It is a little longer than 45 seconds but I wanted to make it more interesting than just me speaking.

Task 2a- Journal

I have begun the torment of writing my Journal. (HELP) writing about how I feel has never been an easy thing for me to do. With some people words just flow but I have to be in the right mind set to write things down. I am struggling with writing down my emotions and converting how I feel into words! It doesn't seem natural. However, I am going to see this task through and by the end I will be able to write down how I am feeling and maybe also how my actions have affected others. At the moment, my journal is just blurb, with no through line, however I am hoping in time I will start seeing a logical way of expressing myself through words. How are you finding it?

I think Task 2b will be useful for me, as it will give me an opportunity to experiment and find out which method is best for me.

Saturday 8 October 2011

So I haven't had any comments on my Professional profile, so I have taking the liberty of looking at others blogs  and their comments and putting some of the things that I have learnt from them, into my Blog.

Let me know what you think!

I also have many other adaptions of this CV on Casting call pro, Spotlight and of course my website. I believe every CV should be adapted to every type of audition you go for depending on what the role is. I am going to find it difficult to change my CV as I like it to be simple and easy to read due to the fact that I know Casting agents will not have time to read every detail in a CV. Any suggestions on what else I need to include/change?
